We don't need to "prove" anything to anybody.
All they care about is power and how to achieve it - again. Once you understand that, then you work towards the middle to peel votes off. They can't survive without the "Progressive/Left" base, and they won't win with it.
We don't need to "plant", either. It will be there.

Oh come on. This isn't anything. It is just pesticides. Plutonium kills more bugs than Sarin. It's a dual use ingredient. /sarcasm

I'm getting tired of jumpthegun reporting of maybe-information. Then take it for what it's worth. And realize that all the networks do it. And in defense of most of the reporters on every network I've seen, they do a nice job of saying "maybe" or "pending confirmation." It's a few folks around here who seem to get all worked up and then let down when it's not proven as cold, hard fact.
I take everything with a grain of salt until I hear CENTCOM, the Pentagon or the Administration verify it.

I think the original poster was thinking of the first REACTOR, the one under the stadium at the University of Chicago that Fermi built.
Yep, you can't make nuclear WEAPONS under a stadium :-)

Worse, but also better in that we found it now rather than later. This was Saddam's goal. We knew they were close, but not necessarily this close.

Weapons Grade plutonium. I'm sure it's just a pesticide ingredient.

I think El Baradei has always entertained little daydreams of Haifa and New York going up in mushroom clouds and being hailed as part of the final, final solution by Al Jazeera.

once read a science fiction story -- in Asimov's magazine -- about terrorists attempting to make a dirty bomb. There are many problems. If you just use big chunks, you get big chunks that are east to find and dispose of. To get an effective weapon you have to grind it into powder, an activity not endorsed by OSHA. It is more hazardous to the terrorists than to their intended victims. Plutonium burns. Mix chunks with a high-temperature combustant like thermite and you might get plutonium-oxide soot wafting into the atmosphere

I had the feeling that Friday when I heard them speak we were not even getting close to the whole story on Iraq. The Nuclear Inspector was too quick to declare Iraq was helping and he could find nothing. His report had a hollow ring to it -- now we know why. I believe he was lying! No way could they have not recorded these readings in that area if they had truly wanted to find something!
Another reason to leave the UN totally out of Iraq!

Very series! This is hugh!Demonstrating two pernicious public school innovations in English. Loose-lose seems to have been cleared up so now there is serious-series and Hugh-huge.
A series is a group in sequence, one after another.
Serious means important.
Hugh smokes a pipe and stands around practicing suave.
Huge is very large.

Hang in there, honey, I turned big time.
However, I brought along my younger sister to boot.
I've also brought along a co-worker whose mom is a big time Lib fundie. She hates my gutts.
To: Pharmer
Inhaling one small particle of plutonium is certain death as well.

Gee, all of those same comments could have come from my Ex-wife. (I know there is no such thing as divorcing mom. Maybe she will come around.)
