They've started pushing certain angles in the briefings. Showing videos of humanitarian aid. Telling stories of atrocities and such.
I was very gratified to see the two minute video production MSNBC came up with yesterday in honor of yesterday's events. They even titled it "Beautiful Day" and it was so well done. Rumsfeld gave an excellent statement yesterday to open the briefing. It was like a speech and included a quote from George Washington. Well, MSNBC incorporated his voice, as well as others like Dick Cheney, into this video piece.
I do think they are savvy in this area. I also think they'll gauge what points to push if they see it isn't getting attention or is being distorted (which happens all the time). So, I do not think they'll let facts get buried, and we have not heard the last of that.
