How are you going to distribute hydrogen? you can't. fuel cells are good, but everyone knows the only practical ones maintain the reformer on board. so you have to get some hydrocarbon fuel into them so they can make hyrdrogen. gasoline and alcohol are still part of the fuel cell solution for cars, natural gas production would be essential for home based fuel cell units.

that said, if the "new iraq" pumps oil like crazy, we don't need anwr.

True. Another way to look at is: Iraq apparently (supposedly?) supplies 10% of our oil needs. So if we used ANWR instead of Iraqi oil (such as if we hadn't "won" this war... LOLOLOLOL), then that "6-month supply" would last for 5 years. (Did I do that math right? Operating on very little sleep for a week makes an Addict very fuzzy in the brain.)

I'm no nuclear physicist, but if an atomic bomb can produce that much energy... you'd think we could figure out a way to make nuclear cars that could drive for a few hundred miles. ;-)
