UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - Reversing course as TV images showed a mob in Baghdad tearing down a statue of Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein, Arab nations withdrew on Wednesday a request for a U.N. General Assembly meeting on Iraq.
"With the rapid developments, the Arab group has decided to put it on hold, pending more clarity in the situation" said one Arab envoy, speaking on condition of anonymity.
Several Arab envoys insisted the initiative had merely been suspended and would be revived at a later date.
But Kuwaiti Ambassador Mohammad Abulhasan, whose government opposed a special session from the start, predicted the request had been dropped definitively.
"It is not going to come back," Abulhasan told Reuters.

If these morons had any sense they'd be holding a meeting about how best to stop their radical populations, stay quiet and off of the US's radar.

Cowards, all of them.

Unfortunately for those of us who try to go about our everyday lives, it is going to be in downtown Washington, D.C. Saturday, at Lafayette Park I think. The pro-Americans are holding a counter demo somewhere else, the Lincoln Memorial I think, and if I venture in that day, I will want to be among my own, not with the great unwashed anti-war, anti-American, anti-democracy group. Their hygiene leaves much to be desired.

It's not so much that "Bush won," but that any claim by them that the U.S. is engaged in a "war of aggression against the Iraqi people" is now going to LOOK as stupid as we have always known it REALLY was.
When you have the PERCEPTION as well as the REALITY on your side, you have WON!

I have a gasmask with biohazard-rated filters.
pity I am too far away.
I will have a word with God instead, thanking him for whatever involvement He may have had in this victorious campaign, and asking Him to grant me the minor boon of dumping an oceanful of freezing rain on the ANSWERites.

Go to the Mall between 3rd and 4th for the Rally for the Troops, Rally for America. It should be a really big gathering with G. Gordon Liddy and Fred Thompson as two of the many speakers and Aaron Tippin and other entertainment. It starts at Noon.
The ANSWER people will be on the Ellipse and hope for 20,000. We need to get as many people out as possible on Saturday to the rally to support our troops and the liberation of Iraq and dwarf their rally. FReep On!
