Is there a FReeper who can organize a FReep of this vicious deliberately-misleading inaccuracy?

Dear Diogenesis,

I have an E-mail list. It is not very large, but it does include on occasion the Boston Globe.

I was recently invited to engage them in a war of images concerning this War in Iraq. You posts here have been of immense value to me.

The Boston Globe is disgusting in their coverage of the War and their portrayal of our heros and champions in the Armed Forces.

Certainly, apologists shall appear to engage in a defense of these vile so-called journalists. IMHO the practices of the Boston Globe are indefensible. They suck huge, and the backlash is coming for them.

Prudence, and a wish not to be banned from FR keeps me from spelling it out exactly as I would like.

Hey, Boston Globe, how do you like me now?

FOX news reported that troops were given strict orders not to take any souvenirs, the one exception being pictures of Saddam. The files were rightfully seached and any interesting information confiscated.

Well, Fox News said this morning that some of the soldiers had taken some souveniers, but for the most part, they were small things, like a picture of Saddam or a tea set. I think soldiers in every war have taken souveniers, so this is nothing new. What's the hubbub about? (And as to going through the files, of course they would. They would not be doing their duty if they did not do so.

The Boston Globe is maliciously anti-American and fabricates stories to suit its' agenda?

You think this is "Breaking News?"

I think that the soldiers, the army, the marines, etc. SHOULD LOOT!! For crying out loud are we going to have to now pay to 'rebuild Iraq'. I DON'T WANT TO PAY FOR THEM, THEY LOST, WE TAKE EVERYTHING! This war has cost us enough already...

The army corp of engineers should immediatly begin work on the Iraq-Massachusetts pipeline. And every April 9th from now on is National FREE GASOLINE DAY for all Americans.

taking ashtrays...ha ...take everything.

Could you please place this article in the Sidebar area?

IMO, it needs to stay visible as it is a great exposure of the underhanded means the liberal press uses top further its agenda and slander our military.

Thanks in advance!!

I realize that this  a day after, but I thought that you might appreciate (perhaps not) a letter to the editor that The Boston Globe published yesterday.

http://boston.com/dailyglobe2/100/letter/Iraqi_souvenirs+.shtml

Iraqi souvenirs

4/10/2003

HANK YOU for clearing up any doubt as to whether we are in this war for simple arrogant supremacy or to liberate the Iraqis. The April 8 front-page photograph of soldiers helping themselves to souvenirs, as the caption says, shows how pompous we can be. When Iraqis helped themselves to objects in public buildings in Basra, it was called ''looting.''

I apologize for my delay in posting this. Some of us are not able to post from our work.
