"To the perspective of the tanks, a studio camera looks like a missile or a RPG pointed right at them. Especially if it is hanging off of the edge of a terrace. The tankers saw this and did not want to take any chances.
As an ex-army tanker myself (24th Mechanized Infantry Division now known as the 3rd Mechanized Infantry Division out of Fort Stewart, Georgia), I can understand the tankers not wanting to take any chances. Going into a well developed city is the most dangerous part of being a tanker. The armor on the top of the tank is not very thick and can be penetrated with anything over 50 caliber. Most of the armor of a tank is in the front or sides of a tank. Anyone with a RPG in a skyscraper can take out a tank. Why take a chance at dying?"
