Or they can ignore the whole thing and concentrate on taking care of their daughter. Who cares what other people think? And why make money off of what happened to their daughter? She's a human being, their child, not a commodity.

How most people think of and treat Elizabeth for the rest of her life will depend on the impression they get from the made for TV movies. That is a sad comentary on people but true.

They would be negligent not to try to make the impression favorable. This is one of the unfortunate but unavoidable parts of living in a media world.

I'd much rather see a film about the episode tell the truth than see one trying to make a "favorable impression." One made by objective interests will be a lot more interesting than one concocted by the Smarts.
