That is deeply, deeply penetrating. I bet somebody might be saddened.

From last nights thread ....

May I make a suggestion to whomever re-starts these threads every day?

Would it be possible to make 2 separate Sit Room threads -- one would be for ACTUAL NEWS / WAR RELATED, and the second one would be for COMMENTARY / CHIT CHAT / JOKES / OFF TOPIC stuff.

This would make it MUCH EASIER for people to get caught up on the NEWS when they check in, rather than having to read through a couple THOUSAND posts that are mostly just banter. I love the banter, and I am an active participant in that. But I have also spent 4-5-6 or more hours just catching up because the thread is so long and you have to weed through so much to FIND the news.

And it would be easy enough for regulars to have both threads open in separate windows at the same time (the NEWS thread and the CHAT thread).

Just a friendly suggestion, and I hope you will consider it.

Thank you! :-)

Noted.

I started a separate belly girl thread for this purpose, but people will do what people do.

An.American.Expatriate, any thoughts from Switzerland? How about you, Centurion 2000?

MY 2 CENTS - The Sit Room is designed for discussion of the events as they happen.  Links should be provided to other threads (where "in depth" discussion  happens).  During lulls,  a bit of chit-chat breaks the tedium and is desirable.  Excessive OT banter is distracting and each poster is encouraged to use common sense.  There are Chat Rooms available or you can create your own and link to it.   On a related topic - excessive posting of pictures can be a problem for the braod band challenged.  The Mod Guys suggested a while back that, before posting the pic, get the dimensions and post the with the pic, this allows the browser to continue to load the rest of the page even though the pic is not fully loaded.  Example:

< img src="http://www.piclink.org/pic.jpg" alt="Cool Pic" width="100" height="150" >

Take out the space between < img & "150" > !!!
