A: Had reports that embassy personnel were moving west. Reports of gunfire that hit convoy as it moved...went through contested area where Iraqis were present...many number of reports that aren't factual....still investigating.

A: Ongoing actions so cannot say exact locations. We want to deny freedom of action just as we have in other parts of Iraq so we know who's moving in and out. We have areas of high degree of control, others just surveillance. Ultimate objective is control over movement in and out of B-dad.
