April 6, 2003 -- TWO task forces from the U.S. Army's Third Infantry Division just took their first tour of downtown Baghdad. The 3ID controls the city's international airport, while our airpower dominates the capital's skies. And the Marines are sweeping in from the Southeastern flank.

THE United States will be accused of arrogance and violations of international law by the jealous, the jilted and the jittery, from Paris to Pyonyang.

Let them whine. Let the weasels and the socialist gangsters make all the noise they want. They didn't have the power to prevent us from going to war, so what makes them think they have the power to do anything else? What makes them think they have any power whatsoever to impose their will on us? They only have power if we let them have power, if we defer to them. If we ignore them, what can they do? Make more noise? Who cares?

It's time we refuse to be intimidated by two-bit gangsters and liars whose only weapons are threats and bluffs and lies. If they really want to stop us from doing whatever we wish to do, let them put their money where their mouths are. Let them challenge us militarily, if they dare, if they have the guts. Otherwise, they can whine all they want. It's time we realize that the United States is an adult in a world of spoiled and bratty children, and adults do not let children browbeat them. When children get out of line and don't STFU, adults spank them and send them to their room without any supper.

A rep of the Iraqi National Congress said yesterday on FNC that they don't want the UN, specifically the French, Germans, Russians or Chinese anywhere near the reconstruction effort. They feel betrayed by those countries and only want those countries who fought for their liberation to help.

If the Iraqi National Congress and the Iraqi people don't want the UN involved and say so in a very strong way, that gives us a huge fig leaf, because we don't want them involved either.

Yes, I saw that. And then I saw on the ticker that France, Germany, and Russia continue to demand that they have a role in post-war Iraq. What a joke. Will they ever realize they aren't in any position to demand anything? Are they going to back up their demands with any kind of meaningful threat? What a bunch of whining losers. We really need to completely ignore them. Maybe they'll threaten to hold their breaths until we cave, just like the pathetic babies they are.

We must ignore such voices and show the firmness to move forward as obsolete powers struggle to tug us backward to their old, decayed, dysfunctional, cherished order.

Gee, isn't that precisely what he was criticizing about Rumsfield in his article yesterday as Rumsfield tries to build a modern defense department in spite of its "obsolete powers" and its "old, decayed, dysfunctional order".

Yesterday he said Rumsfield was "lucky". Luck, my a$$.

I don't agree with this "let them escape" theory. IMHO there SHOULD have been a "highway of death," because these guys will be back---probably not all of them, but some of them.

We gave them an escape back in 1991, and any military who stayed don't deserve a second chance.
