I am really down today about David Bloom

Me, too. My FIL had a rough go with a pulmonary embolism following gallbladder surgery a couple years ago, but fortunately was already in the hospital at the time and was rushed to ICU. It sounds like things happened much faster for David Bloom, though - the last I heard, he collapsed without warning.

Heartbreaking for his wife and young daughters.

I've noticed that a lot of the Iraqis shout Bush, Bush, Bush or similar things when the Americans arrive. I hope they soon learn that the days of personality cults are over. The sooner they start recognizing that government should be larger than one man, the better.

Dr. Bob Arnett just asked a precious bunch of Baghdad children "who do you like, Saddam or George Bush?". At first they just stared and then they started yelling: "George Bush!". Awwwwwwww!

Now if we can only get enough of them to immigrate to California we can hold a Republican majority for decades :)

There is a cluster of street lights behind the palm tree. You can see each one distinctly on the NTV cam. Gah! They just switched to green cam on MSNBC2.

Really! He's with the cutest group of children, teaching them how to say "hello, how are you" in English. As a doctor, he's looked them over and reporting that they don't seem undernourished...but are somewhat trauamatized...nothing they won't outgrow, though. They seem verrrrrrry happy!

He's bound to get the Pulitzer.

Hey, there are some people on this forum whose sum input in the political conversation amounts to "Bush, Bush, Bush!" Give the Iraqis a break. At least they aren't shouting death to the infidels like our "friends" in other Arab countries.
