As I recall, DeSoto Parish voted for G.W. Bush in 2000; so it must have been votes cast along racial lines. It is hard to imagine many LA blacks voting for Bush, isn't it?

Unfortunately for LA Blacks, yes. DeSoto very narrowly went for Dubya, 5,260 to 5,036. 4 years earlier, Clinton had beaten Dole there by an almost 2-to-1 margin.
