Mrs. Chummy was saying the same thing as you: where in the world are all those people going? Do they actually believe Baghdad Bob's line to not believe that Coalition Forces are at hand?

The residents of Baghdad are not isolated from any access to information, other than Iraqi media.
They have radios and phones. They just choose not to believe what they learn, methinks.

For the owners' sake, that's better than a .50BMG SLAP round killin' the batteries.

The music that Fox plays when they show those that have made the "Ultimate Sacrifice" is so haunting....don't know if that is the right word....maybe moving.

The more video I see of the outskirts of Baghdad the more it reminds me of the outer parts of Houston, TX, kinda desolate but lots of pockets of industries, more booms, more car alarms.
To: Chummy
I've been watching the pedestrians on the cam and they don't even flinch when there is a BIG boom anymore. They must be de-sensatized.

As far as the crying and the visit? I'm reporting that; they'd have to be visited before telling the media; they're not just going to receive a phone call telling them their son/daughter's been killed....natural reaction after learning this is to cry. And if Pentagon is releasing this info. "early saturday," the families had to have been told on Friday.....
To: Howlin
The cars on the left side of the roundabout look like lowriders on my screen....bumping up and down while they're rolling. Cheech & Chong in Baghdad!

I've noticed the same, too, Texas Tea. There were a couple that hopped into a car that pulled over, another subwoofer-shaking boom, and nothing, they just drove off.
