In the best of all worlds, we'll portray one of the dead body-doubles as the real deal, then take in the true Saddam to Diego Garcia for a little talk in private.

Yup. The good thing is they won't know we've taken over til its too late for them to do anything about it. For all the supposed efficiency of totalitarian regimes, their blind spot is their inability to level with their public about a dire situation. Saddam's regime is now imploding not so much as a result of the Americans suddenly taking it by surprise than by the accumulated dead weight of its own lies.

I was just quoting another post. On Fox they looked like they were doing about 30 MPH but I could be wrong. Also they stop occasionally to take out something.
They may not be planning to come to the center of the city. Isn't this supposed to be a probe?
Fox now saying we are going to bi-sect the city, into sections.

My husband received a joke on his email this evening that said if Saddam if actually alive, but missing a leg, his body doubles are really going to be mad.

Do you realize that since, September 12, 2002, President Bush has:
1. Exposed the relevency of the UN.
2. Shifted the Democrats into a major defensive mode.
3. Has what appears to be a brilliant execution of a war in Iraq.
4. Is shifting his efforts towards the domestic economic policy now, while everyone is focused on the war.
Nifty...

R.I.P. to our brave soldiers:
The Pentagon issued a statement early Saturday morning saying the status of the eight soldiers had been changed from missing to killed.
The soldiers were:
Sgt. George E. Buggs, 31, of Barnwell, S.C.
Master Sgt. Robert J. Dowdy, 38, of Cleveland.
Pvt. Ruben Estrella-Soto, 18, of El Paso, Texas.
Spc. James M. Kiehl, 22, of Comfort, Texas.
Chief Warrant Officer Johnny Villareal Mata, 35, of Amarillo, Texas.
Pfc. Lori Ann Piestewa, 23, of Tuba City, Ariz.
Pvt. Brandon U. Sloan, 19, of Cleveland.
Sgt. Donald R. Walters, 33, of Kansas City, Mo.
All were members of the 507th Maintenance, an army unit based at Fort Bliss, Texas. The ninth body taken to Dover has not been identified. Five members of the unit remain listed as prisoners of war. Shortly after the unit's ambush, the five were shown on Iraqi state-run television being questioned by their captors.
Iraqi television also showed footage of at least five bodies. After viewing that footage, Pentagon officials accused Iraq of executing prisoners of war.
There was no immediate word from the Pentagon Saturday on whether the soldiers were killed in the ambush or afterward.

Works for me as long as the real deal gets worked over with a hammer like they did to Jessica Lynch.

Has anyone reported actually seeing all these thousands of people reportedly fleeing Baghdad?
