Here is an amusing little tid-bit I just picked up from WABC.
Why are the US forces allowing the Iraqi Minister of Information
to continue broadcasting his propaganda?
Because after his ministry was bombed
he moved to the El Rashid hotel
where all the western journalists are staying.
Thus the western journalists inadvertently are acting as human shields.

they should hit the lobby of the hotel with a missile with no warhead, the press would start bugging out.

Well, this isn't new. The Iraqis have been moving their human shields around since the war started. Nate Thayer of Slate had reported on this very thing until he was given a choice to either leave through Syria or become a human shield. He left. I haven't been back to Slate to find out what happened to him, because I don't give a damn what happens to him since he stopped reporting from Baghdad.
Frankly, I don't much care what happens to the others, either. The journalists who are there had a choice to leave or stay as a shield; unlike like Nate Thayer they chose to stay. As far as the "70-year-old grandmothers from California" and the "20-year-old hippies" from Spain? Everybody's gotta die sometime, and they'd be dying for their cause. Why should I care? Bomb them.

Interesting.
But, regardless of the Minister of Information himself, we apparently want to keep their broadcast facilities intact. Maybe the information we can glean from their propaganda is deemed of some value?
