Has the II MEF vanished? Still invisible to the west, by my reckoning. Could even be in Jordan. I've not tracked news of any elements of it being involved.

Didn't see flashes to go along with those booms.

Some of the talking heads mentioned that Saddam did these walkabouts fairly frequently during the 1991 bombings of Baghdad. He keeps boot polish on his hair to keep that virile he-man look (ha!), but I wonder if any of the others in the video can be matched to current photos/video to check their wrinkles/graying/weight/general appearances.
The "proof" that this tape was very recent was the smoke on the horizon from coalition bombing raids. But no bombed-out buildings were shown, even though that was the supposed purpose of the tour. And there was smoke a-risin' on the horizon during coalition bombing from January 1991 (and a walkabout in January would explain the heavy sweaters and leather jackets). So I'm wondering if perhaps this really is Saddam, but from Gulf War I.

Heard a military analyst talk about this the other week. He was asked about the jury. Usually it is just a jury of officers, but the defendant can ask for a jury of his peers (enlisted). In the analyst's opinion, that would be a BAD idea, as the enlisted are known to take a harder line...are the "hanging" types, so to speak.
