Maybe the Ba'athists and Saddamites did not pay their bills, and this is the first time the light company has had the nerve to emforce a cutoff notice. . .

Saddam or whichever of his thugs are in charge have no doubt been furious with the Shia assistance coalition troops have gotten in the south. In their anger, it wouldn't be surprising that they would kill Shia citizens in Baghdad under cover of darkness (and blame us). The fact that they expelled al Jazeera reporters from Baghdad also leads one to think that they were about to do something they didn't want telegraphed to the rest of the Arab world via al Jazeera.
