The good news is that our young people in uniform have this sense of goodness while maintaining a fierce fighting spirit. The scary news is that most in the media and at least some in our society find their behavior incredible and hard to comprehend.

"Where do they get young men like this?"

Wasn't that the last line (or nearly so) in the Korean War novel "The Bridges of Toko Ri"? 50+ years and we are still getting them. If that isn't God's blessing on the USA, I do not know what is.

Now those Marines...That deserter...the one who said they never told him that Marines kill people...he's right...he could never be a Marine.

Beautiful post. That is one of my favorite hymns, too. Taught all the verses to my fifth graders when I taught in CA a long time ago!

Thank you Eagle. There is only one song from popular culture that has the same effect on me and that is "Proud to be an American".

See you tonight at the Patriots Room.

How proud it makes one to know that the sons and daughters we raised turned into these wonderful patriotic Ladies and Gentlemen.

As the ex-wife of a ex-marine, as well as niece and cousin, Semper Fi.

Thank GOD for all Marines, past and present. Thank GOD for all of the military personnel who have loved their Country so well.

Wow, thanks for the pings.

America is truly blessed to have men and women like this willing to defend her.

Hope any protesters watching CNN felt totally inadequate in the presence of such human decency.
