Good picture ... looks like Martha's Vineyard in the background.

No, I think it's Rumson, New Jersey. Geraldo lives near there. Very upscale; the river is lined with five million dollar mansions.

Lord love a duck, are we ever going to learn the true story?

Well, the 11 o'clock local FOX news, the most liberally biased of all my local news stations BTW, had Geraldo on sat phone and he said that the military kicked him out is a lie.

And after this, the media still have the nerve to wonder why people don't trust them to report the truth.

PS Is the ConservaBabes website yours?

I'm not going to take the word of any news media over the DOD. But I'll take a quote from a named source at DOD any day. I'm not going to take the word of any news media over the DOD.

You are not going to take the word of any news media? I believe this was the media reporting, was it not? I have yet to see a DOD release on the subject, only MEDIA reporting.

Let's see. The quote from a named source at DOD said Geraldo was being expelled from Iraq. Is he being expelled?

Especially for someone stuck here in ultra-lib Hawaii.

It could be worse. BTW, don't you have a republican governor now?

After early reports indicated that Rivera would be expelled from the Army unit he was traveling with, Fox and the Pentagon agreed that he would leave on his own, without being officially sanctioned. http://www.cnn.com/2003/WORLD/meast/04/01/sprj.irq.geraldo/index.html

LOL - I wouldn't mind being stuck in Hawaii!! Jeeze I am now stuck in a Cubie in an office in NYC! Can't top that for being stuck!!! Looks like as of this morning Geraldo is back with the 101st! I was watching Fox and Friends and he was on. Apparently what info he was giving out was already given to the media.

From your article:

After early reports indicated that Rivera would be expelled from the Army unit he was traveling with, Fox and the Pentagon agreed that he would leave on his own, without being officially sanctioned.

Now I'm really confused.

I am sure I am butchering this expression but at this point the whole Geraldo thing is reduced to "Do you want to believe me or your own lying eyes?"

You nailed it perfectly.

But now I am beginning to wonder how much of the other stuff they report is basically a pack of lies.

I don't know...in that news article, it cites the Pentagon as telling CNN that the Pentagon and FNN had come to an agreement. I find it hard, almost implausable to believe that that is what and how it happened...

If the troops would have been endangered by Geraldo do not like him, or if they feel endangered by him, he would be gone. If the local commander feels endangered by him, he would be gone. First they would disable his equipment. If he did not obey a request to leave, he would have an accident.

My take on all this is that someone outside the 101st has in in for Geraldo -- possibly for a legitimate reason -- but the people he's with like him.

The part I don't buy is that, if this were true, I'm positive Fox would be reporting it. As hard as they hit Arnett, they would have no choice but to be equally as honest about Geraldo. If they wanted to maintain their credibility.

I agree. I refuse to believe that the United States military cannot remove ONE reporter from a war zone if they want to.

Nevertheless, as the day went on, Fox News executives pleaded with Pentagon officials to not expel Rivera. Pentagon officials stood their ground and insisted that Rivera go, and a deal was eventually reached, the Pentagon sources said.

If that were true, I'd expect Fox to report it -- all of it. Just as hard as they hit Arnett.

I'll be watching this closely. If they haven't been reporting the entire truth, that's one less place I have to watch the war, as far as I'm concerned.
