Newsmax is just repeating the CNN story.

I wondered last night who he had smooth the sand for him and why his handler didn't pull his mike. Aren't the reporters supposed to clear everything with someone first? Yes, everyone knows Geraldo can't keep a secret if his or anyone else's life depended on him so my question is where the heck was his handler.

i kinda don't think that tackling geraldo during a live shot would produce the effect the military is hoping to achieve by having embedded reporters. otoh, an off-camera rifle shot could be chalked up to a sniper or something.
