Unfortunatley I don't get Fox...I despise CNN ..So MSNBC is it for me.
MSNBC talking heads are saying the same things on the air to their viewers, that Arnett said on Iraqi TV.
So Arnett didn't get fired for what he said, he got fired for where he said it.

Great news......now, lets find his coordinates and send a 2000lb farewell gift!

MSNBC articles do not need to be excerpted unless they are Newsweek articles or reposts of Washington Post articles! MSNBC articles ARE NOT PART OF THE LAT/WT AGREEMENT.

Well, that clinches it! Carter got his Nobel, Michael Mooron got his Oscar...Just mail Peetahh Ahhnett his next Pulitzer to NBC & they'll forward it along to him.

NBC's embedded reporter Peter Arnett has just been fired and NBC's war coverage has been stalled in the face of strong resistance by the opposition. Obviously the war coverage planners did not take this development into consideration when formulating their coverage and expected the competition to surrender to their overwhelming coverage and on-air superiority.
Their plan can be deemed an outright failure as it is now hopelessly engaged in a quagmire of negative opinion.

I hope NBC cancelled the "return" half of his airline ticket.

Since the Admin Moderator not only chopped off the article without cause (MSNBC articles that are not of Newsweek or WashPost material are NOT part of the LAT/WP settlement), but he also didn't even bother adding the standard link at the bottom of an excerpt, I guess I have to do it manually):

In my opinion Arnett's statement that the war plan had failed wasn't his worst offense. Two things struck me as far worse.
Reading the transcript, I was left with the impression that he was offering advice to the Iraqis about how to weaken the American resolve.
He also seemed to imply that Bush had no real concern about killing Iraqi civilians, but only had to minimize them so as not to incur the wrath of the media.

Peter Arnett's mistake (from NBC's standpoint) is to have tipped the hand of the antiwar movement.
Is Arnett an American citizen? He is a New Zealander, but might have decided to become naturalized for some reason.

Isn't this the guy that was behind the false CNN serin gas story? They don't mention this when talking about his past "accomplishments" in these articles.
To: Dont Mention the War
To my mind, this won't be done with until the US pulls his citizenship papers. I understand he's a naturalized citizen and that can be pulled for what he did during war.
