Jay Stout on FNC: "Pound them into hair, teeth, and eyeballs."
Fox News Channel | 3/30/03 | FNC

Posted on 03/30/2003 12:36:24 PM PST by FreepnDeacn

Lieutenant Colonel Jay Stout, United States Marine Corps (Ret.), commented on why there has been a so-called "delay" before ground forces move on Baghdad:

So our F-18's can go in and "pound them into hair, teeth, and eyeballs." I nearly fell off the couch.

Compare this patriot's comments to David Hackworth's last night on Larry King:

Did you happen to hear the chuckle from the host Greg Jarrett in the background when he heard this? It was a priceless comment--

"pound them into hair, teeth, and eyeballs."

I don't think I've heard that expression for nearly 30 years (when I was in the military). I loved it!

He's about a "hack's worth".

That's all I should say about Hackworth.

It's amazing the media can't grasp this simple concept. While our guys rest, rearm, resupply, and generally prepare for an assault, the Republican guard gets to get pounded 24/7. The constant hammering of the bombs makes it nearly impossible to sleep. Hopefully, they will get too exhausted to put up much of a fight.

I caught the second half of LarryLive last night and was outraged at the doom and gloom rhetoric from all the guests. Hackworth and that idiot Arthur Kent really pissed me off. GGRRRRRRRR.

Hack is a great example of a vain contrarian.

I tune out of Hannity when he [Hackworth] comes on.

send Sean Hannity an e-mail if you think that Hackup should get less publicity. I did Friday, and I'm waiting for my reply. If Hackup is on Hannity Monday, I'm going to be very upset. This guy is definitely losing his mind.

Somehow, I trust Col. Hackworth's assessment of the situation more than pretty much any civilian's. He's been a supporter of the war, but he's also been very much in favor of doing it RIGHT. Yes, we may be able to defeat the Iraqi forces, but doing it quickly, and then fully pacifying the country and holding it are different matters altogether. As Hackworth pointed out, France held all of Indochina and still lost, and we held all of South Vietnam and still weren't able to keep it.

And frankly, it wouldn't surprise me at all if some of the guys at the Pentagon were fool enough to underestimate what it'd take to win this. It was obvious from the start that this was going to be a different war than Gulf War I - a war to overthrow a government and take a country is a different sort of project than "drive Iraq out of Kuwait."

I dunno if you realize it, but we currently have only about 100,000 of our guys in Iraq itself. From what I've been able to figure out, we're probably gonna need twice that number to make sure this is done right. Yeah, we can probably pull it off without 100,000 more guys on the ground, but I wouldn't want to.

No Dark Side: pull all the troops out NOW and drop as many nukes as Bush promised to Putin he would get rid of (but not where). Otherwise: all the Bush spinmeisters on Earth will not convince the media (i.e. the American public) that the loss of American lives are worth it. Rather, all they have to do is convince the aforementioned that nukes were the only option. We paid for 'em: use 'em.
