Iraq expected us to start with bombing, and we didn't

Everyone expected us to wait until the new moon...

Which is why we didn't!

I've been pondering the events and the "news" of the last 10 days and I have a theory about what the Pentagon is doing. The Pentagon KNOWS that the press is going to telegraph every comment from "anyone" in the Pentagon direct to Iraq - so - they have been using the media since long before the war! Why? In order to lull Saddam into the trap! S&A was "BIG" - but we didn't start with that - his troops weren't ready to engage us and we swarmed through the country before they knew what hit them. Now they are isolated. What do we say? Oh, gee, we underestimated - no supplies, blah blah, so the Iraqi's get the idea they can "break out" and land right where we want them! Out in the open where we can pick them off at will, instead of having to rout them from house to hosue. IMHO, we are getting a VERY small sense of the real situation on the ground - the Pentagon is engaging in a propaganda war and the media are lapping it up!

Which, BTW, is a couple days away. Maybe we are waiting for it.
