This ballard ought to start:
As the sun rose over a great land...a distant star...dull and all jaded....simply faded...
This star...with no passion or heart...only sex and glitter...had damned a nation...
Jaded stars come and go....like the winds over New Mexico...

You need to go to FReeper detox HappyGal! :-D
Thanks for the ping. Maybe Bono can give her his leather jacket with the US flag in the lining and turn her around.

Just out of curiousity how many Freepers know which one is the bass player?
Besides their two barely top 100 hits, the only notable thing TL did was to open for Queen on a couple of their tours.

Thank you for your opinion, but I'd rather listen to TL than most of the insipid pop music out there now.
What exactly does popularity have to do with quality?

Very little of what is released by the big corporations is real music anymore. Thin Lizzy was okay, just a little one dimensional IMHO. In that era I was a Queen freak. After that I became more of a Neil Young or Bob Dylan kinda guy. Lately it has been talk radio and 4 tracks I cut in my basement when I was younger.

I've got a broken Fostex 4-track machine. It recorded at double speed so I have to figure out a way to get my old band tapes...about 90 of them to digital. Any suggestions?
I spend alot of time reading FR and other online news so it is distracting for me to listen to talk radio at the same time, and my job doesn't allow it. I can see we have similar views.
I was sort of disgusted by Freddie Mercury, but I can appreciate their music, especially Brian May's guitar work. Thanks again.

I can listen to Brian May all day long....he rocks. I was willing to look the other way on Freddie as long as the band kept rocking. I have to admit it was a tragedy that he died the way he did. What a sad existance.
Here is an idea on your four track. There is a software called Cool Edit. The demo version is free and will not let you save files as MP3's, but will let you save them as .WAV's. I then burn the .WAV files to .MP3's using Blade encoder or something similar. I was thinking that you could record at double speed from tape to .WAV. Then using the software play it back at 1/2 speed to make MP3's or CDA's. Worth a try anyway. Years ago I ended up with a Tascam PortaStudio 4 track cassette. At the time I was looking for a Yamaha but it was out of stock. Wish I would have waited for the Yamaha as it is much better for mixing down to digital.

"I do not want to risk offending anyone who might misinterpret the meaning of this video," Madonna announced. Oh, thanks for clearing that up.
