I wish Couric had interviewed those students who refused to march..but hey, why mess up a perfectly good story.

That's nothing. A high school boy in Houston called talk radio last night and told the mc that his teacher sat back in muted silence as the kids ended a discussion of the war with repeated chants of "Death to Bush". The radio guy said wait on the line, no I am serious, wait on the line, the secret service would like to know about this. there are laws against threatening the president.
We have raised a generation of a-holes. Good job folks.

I have doubts that those students were communicating with real Iraqi students. This is way out of line.

"Boy howdy, Bones. That Katie Couric and that grade school teacher have some nerve, don't they?"
"Both them Yankee bitches are dead, Jim!"
Want a break from war news? Go to Stark Trek for a laugh or two. Then come back refreshed and loaded for Katie!

"Bush said no one supported Saddam, said one student, and the letters say they do. I was really surprised. What if perky Katie had been around in 1942? Interviewing students whose teacher encouraged them to correspond with Third Reich pen-pals? "Roosevelt said no one supported Hitler," said one student, "and the letters say they do." I was really surprised.

Another example of the fine education that is happening in the Public Leftist Indoctrination Centers. Marx would be so proud of these youngsters and their teachers.

Aguila(r?)s 7th and 8th class had been exchanging emails with children in Iraq. She knows for a fact that it was children responding?
Does she even know what a fact is?
To: fight_truth_decay
How do these kids know that these are emails from Iraqi students? Isn't it conceivable that they come from the Iraqi Ministry of (Mis)Information? Iraq only has one, single, state-owned Internet provider, after all.

I saw this trio (one teacher and two duped students) on tv this morning. If there were any sense of concern for Iraqis they would be talking about the 500,000 + children that die every year due to starvation induced by the existing regime.
How tragic indeed that gullable young students can be encouraged to care about trivial things and ignore truly monumental things!
It will not be too long until we will be over-run be blathering liberal pacifists the same way we are currently being over-run by liberal wards of the state. If we don't wake up soon we will have nothing left to celebrate or be proud of.
I was disgusted by the whole pathetic display.
And yes, why didn't the perky one take the time to talk to those who refused to march? Oh yes, I know. It would not help to advance Couric's liberal, anti-American agnda.

Sadam does not need to use chemicals or any other WMD on us.
The media, as represented by Couric, our public education
system, and our Universities are spewing more then enough
toxic filth to kill off everything that made America a great country.

"Bush said no one supported Saddam, said one student, and the letters say they do. I was really surprised. Of course neither the teacher nor even Katie dear happened to mention that the kids would not DARE write in an email that they were against Saddam, that they were terrified of him or that they wanted the USA to come over there and kick his butt because they would be too afraid of having their email intercepted and being murdered themselves!

Junior High School teachers around here are pretty open about their anti war feelings and inculcate these feelings into their "lessons" (aka brainwashing) ...they then give the kids "assignments" writing poetry that expresses "their feelings" about the war ...Naturally the kids anxious to please their teachers..who ,of course, have made it quite clear what is considered a good and acceptable attitude towards the topic and... what is not...naturally this intimidation produce the desiried results...not without some internal agitation in the kids...
My God daughter fufilled her writing assignment and wrote a poem expressing her fears about the war and her confussion..it was well written & just leaning enough into the anti war camp..that her poem was selected to be published in the local paper (Gannet news owned)....her mom was quite proud and wanted her to read it to me....I had to tell her that it was a very well written poem (imo it was)...she's a kid who needs to hear praise about her work..and has made great improvements as of late..
After
She and I had a long talk on the phone about what this war was really about...the saving of Iraqi children from the horrible abuse of an evil cruel dictator.and that much like a small child or her favorite kitty being attacked by a wild animal..we must some times fight to save others.
And when bad people attack our friends and relatives or even complete strangers ...to oppress and hurt them ...we need to help them.
We also talked about why we are fighting in Iraq against some of the same people and their friends who hijacked the aircraft flew them into the WTC and Pentagon killing thousands of our citizens ..moms and dads..and even kids...Fighting against evil and keeping people safe from harm ..are some of the duties that God expects of His people..
I felt bad for her...being put in such a position by her teachers who she trusts..and who( if she fights against) will most certainly turn on her...at least I think she is starting to understand their hipocracy but its hard for kids to know how to resist them without getting into trouble for opposing them openly and then having to suffer the consequence of bad grades or a behavioral label..(yes the teachers are that vindicative of those little ones who rebel against their lies)
I wish her mom (who is divorced and having a tough time getting support from her ex) could afford a private school...but frankly some of those are as bad as the public ones)
Tough days to be a kid..so we pray for them..dont know what else to do..

In 7th grade (1974) my history teacher taught us that the following institutions were equivalent:
US.................................................USSR
President.....................................CP Chairman
Cabinet........................................Politburo
Congress....................................Communist Party
Supreme Court...........................Supreme Soviet
We also learned that taking children from their parents at infancy and putting them in state-run institutions was a great idea. Ah, government school memories.

The ghost of Baldur von Shirach must be smiling today knowing that his work continues today with this teacher.

"Bush said no one supported Saddam, said one student, and the letters say they do. I was really surprised.Um, no need for words. In fact, it's laughable. However, the teacher manipulating the students, and kids are VERY easy to manipulate, and using them as pawns is disgusting. Heck, at least show both sides of the story. Why not tell stories of people who have been raped, tortured, and murdered by order of Saddam? What about the wholesale slaughters of his own people? Actually, nowadays that'd get her fired.
