As for the INC .. Iraq is full of different tribes that have been at each others throats for years .. I'm thinking that the Bush Administation wants to set up something where they all have a voice and somehow can get along enough to bring democracy to the region

Correction, the major reason the deal frll through was that the Franco-Prussian Axis threatened the Turks with exclusion from the EU for "a generation" if they supported US Actions.

Good point. The last thing we need is to be seen installing "our guys" as "puppets." The current approach in Iraq seems closer to what we did in Afghanistan, with Karzai.
