Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
Special thanks to null and void for keeping these running on the weekend, to all of you for keeping these threads alive, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

Good Morning all,
as we enter day 9 of Operation Iraq Freedom -
Let us offer prayers for our fallen heroes, the soldiers in theater, them families of all of our brave soldiers, and for the Iraqi people - God's Mercy to all of them.
I would again like to thank all of you for keeping this idea alive.
Yesterday there were some unfortunate exchanges due to OT stuff. I'm sorry if anyone was offended, that was not my intent. Simple reminder this time - please try to stay OT as much as possible. Thanks.

you guys arent going to believe this but I haven't had a second until now to log onto freep and/or watch the news...what has been happening since 2 days ago?? About 30 seperate instances of "LOUD EXPLOSIONS" rocking Bagdad, sandstorms clearing up, Belly Girl staying resolute as ever, and the Paleo-Cons sniping at the administration. Oh and Geraldo has a new hairdo. That about sums it up.

re. Saddam's yacht
I've been imagining the state of his garage. Ferraris never flew so fast... or high.
Elsehwere... Just saw a clip of the latest Iraqi Defense Minister press conference. He was saying, "...and the victims were all women, children, and the elderly who could not afford to..."
And I cut in and yelled, "HEALTH CARE!"
Oh well, he cut from Dem talking points to those of the Pubbies with "...defend themselves."
What we're seeing these past few days is a depressed flipside to the gleeful hysteria of the first advance. There is no longer tense than the present tense.
