Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
Special thanks to null and void for keeping these running on the weekend, to all of you for keeping these threads alive, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

Bush is staking his presidency on his facts being right -- WMDs, alQuaeda, etc. Once he is sure his facts are right he does not waver.

If so, its a pleasure indeed to post to you.

The French will probably try just what you suggested, but unless things change dramatically, or we need them in the war on terror more than I think we do, I think President Bush will tell them to pound sand. (so to speak)

That's the quote. And it is from a different venue than the source I found. And I see now the NPR interview which is even earlier and very explicit.
This is more than an ordinary pundit tossing off opinions and is causing real harm, IMO. Meant to undermine confidence in the administration, and it could possibly undermine the mission our military is undertaking.
And notice he's kept his big yap shut and not stepped forward now to support the administration or troops. Not that I want him to, necessarily, just pointing out he talks enough when he wants to.

Then they will demand a piece of the post-war pie. If I recall Clinton wanted to help the Bush Administration also .. and if I recall, didn't they send him to East Timor?

Bob Arnot is an awesome man.. he has lent his hand in the medical arena there I understand. He is a neurosurgeon, right? Not sure there will be much use for that on the field surgical table.

Thanks so much, Dog. That's one of them and I'll put it in my personal bookmarks so I don't lose it.
Additionally, I thought there were a few alphabet embedded journalists who had seen evidence with their own eyes and reported.
Do we know if links embedded in the Live thread would be found in a search if the links weren't from a FR article? Is it an appropriate question to ask the admin. moderator?

I agree
GWB has more in his little toe.. than the Clinton's ever have/had in their little Socialists imaginary somethings. The Clinton's fought tooth and nail to salvage an impression of themselves, while they lied to the worldand America- "IMPEACHED" is his legacy. GW just had to grasp and understand the basics of morality- "Good vs Evil" he tapped it and went for it. He capitalized on it he found himself within the heart of America and America finally found a decent representative.

Patience is a virtue.
In twenty or fifty years, people will realize that Bush's "Moral Certainty" spared millions of Iraqi lives. He will weather the storm of press criticism because he knows he's right.
Extremely well said. When has the press ever given President Bush the benefit of the doubt? I recall early on when the Chinese intercepted one of our planes the press and even many conservatives were doubting Thomases. The naysayers were doubtful about Afghanistan. I could go on and on.....They doubt and fuss more than little old ladies playing bridge!
