Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
Special thanks to null and void for keeping these running on the weekend, to all of you for keeping these threads alive, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...
TOPICS: Breaking News; Foreign Affairs; Miscellaneous; News/Current Events; War on Terror

Huge story tonight is the attack on the Medina Division by the 101st attack choppers......but MSNBC and CNN are showing footage of the 2 Apaches that crashed in a brownout..... one on takeoff and one returning from the mission.
Just amazing the bias that is on display..
Hyping the negative..

You are having a similar problem I am having. I did a similar search on FR, where I read the comments I was looking for about Clinton saying it would be easier this time because he'd softened the Iraqi troops. Couldn't find it.
Question: Is it likely there are links within these live threads that are from other sources than FR? If yes, would a search for that article show up or because it is "embedded" within the Live thread it wouldn't show?

I'm ignoring the dishonorable creeps who received far more attention from the press for their juvenile prank than did Wayne Gretzky, a national hero, for his classy and courageous praise of the President. As Clara Barton once said, "I disctinctly remember forgetting that incident." (^;

In fairness to Clinton (Gag, gag, gag) he is right. Iraq would have lost this war in a week's time if they were fighting using conventional methods. Suicide attacks from pickup trucks by small groups is quite different than tank versus tank. In that matter, the Iraqi's are overmatched big time.
Ken Adelman basically made the same point as Clinton, and says what I am saying as well. The iraqi's have decided to fight a guerilla war. It is only extending the length of the war, not leaving it's outcome in doubt.

Says news people shouldn't refer to "our" troops. Good Lord. I'd like to slap that baldheaded twerp. (No offense to bald people)

From your lips...
It will depend on whether Jordan stays tame and out of the mix. And the Syria deal - saw an article somewhere that Syria was shipping arms to Iraq by train. So many variables.

Hi all.. friend of mine's son was secret service with Clinton's & also Bush (43),
Mentioned that when president leaves office there is normally a sign up list for agents who wish to continue with the "retired" pres. He said NOT ONE PERSON SIGNED UP FOR ANY OF THE THREE CLINTONS. Said they were the rudest, most self center people you can imagine. He said it was day & night with the Bush family.
The Clinton's had to be assinged agents. First time this has ever happened apparently.
interesting huh?

Patience is a virtue. In twenty or fifty years, people will realize that Bush's "Moral Certainty" spared millions of Iraqi lives. He will weather the storm of press criticism because he knows he's right.

This guy on O'Reilly obviously gets all his news from the liberal news channels and press that he says don't exist. He just said, "NPR strives for objectivity."

I was stuck with Hillary in one of the Senate subway cars last summer, scariest 7 minutes of my life (besides my headlock from Jim Traficant). My God. I just bet you can feel the negativity dripping off of her. Actually, it gives me shivers to think about being that close to her.

As Clara Barton once said, "I disctinctly remember forgetting that incident." (^;Very understandable!

No liberal news channel? PBS, CNN, ABC (top of my personal hit list), the other alphabet channels - the newspapers.
Some days I think we can't convince the unconvincable and other days I get my dander up and fight tooth and nail against the bias.
For many reasons, primarily because our soldiers will be home, I can't wait for the war to be over and the press can go back to being enemy #1.

I'd believe it, I worked in the Capitol for the Clerk of the House as a page on the house floor, and many times in the hallways near the senate I'd come across Hitlery, everytime she was rude and treated others like her servants.

Our media is too hung up on the non-biased thing. I think our country would be a lot better, if we stopped kidding ourselves.
Reporters select their own biases as it is... they do not grab a member of the flat earth society, every time the earth's circumfrence is measured, in order to provide "balance"
It often is a case of lazyness as it is. I am going to be non partisan on my next point. Sometimes a democratic or republican leader is caught flat out lying, and reporters "balance" their story by repeating obscufations by supporters of the person who lied. It is all crap.
Until the media start interviewing every UFO nut every time a space shuttle goes up, or every anniversary of Elvis' death, get "balance" from the Elvis is alive crowd, they are just kidding themselves.

Good question on the search function. I don't know.

Exactly.
I get so mad when I hear someone say that GWB is "staking his presidency" on the outcome of this war. They just don't get it. This man does what is right and not what is most expedient for himself. Totally unlike his predecessor who couldn't draw a breath without checking the polls first.
Thank God for George W. Bush.

The Clinton's had to be assinged agents. First time this has ever happened apparently. I believe it. Wasn't it in "Unlimited Access" when Chelsea refered to her Secret Service agent as her "trained pig"? The agent told her that wasn't very nice and that her parents wouldn't like it if they knew she was saying those things. She said she didn't care, that's what her parents called them, too.
To: cyncooper
Do you remember reading on these threads reports from the field from embedded journalists that Al Qaeda camps had been taken out? (I do remember but can't find them now).
