Wow...Michael MedVed just reported something that Colin Powell said during the big UN debate a few weeks back.

The French U.N. dude said something to the effect of "How much land does the U.S. need? You already have lots of land - why do you need Iraq's land too?"

Powell's answer (in a quiet voice) was: "Look, our troops have fought on your land in two wars, and the only land we ever asked for was a place to bury our heros."

Major Props for Mr. Powell.

Uh-oh. I read elsewhere that it was the Archibishop of Canterbury while Colin was attending a conference in England. Does snopes reference it?
