I'm no hacker, but would it be possible to help on the denial-of-service by setting one's computer to repeatedly hit the site? I have a cable modem connection at home that goes unused for most of the day. Surely there's something that would allow me to do this simple task.

I don't know if this would work, but at my last job I set my computer to repeatedly hit our director's weekly briefings on our intranet. Basically I brought up the page in Internet Explorer, adjusted my 'keystroke repeat speed' in Control Panel somewhat slower than normal in order to register properly, and shoved a paperclip in my keyboard to hold down the F5 key. I ran his hit counter up to 10,000 or so a couple of times.

Anyone can participate.
Obtain a DOS Command prompt "C:\"
Type "ping -t -s 1 -l 65500 213.30.280.218" (without the quotations).
When you want to stop it type "Control C" (without the quotations).
While the site is down, you will be getting "Request timed out" messages. that's OK, just let it run.
The more who do this the better.
