This is the pattern of Muslim/non-Muslim conflict throughout the world and throughout history.
Central to the Muslim mindset is that no retaliation by a non-Muslim against a Muslim can ever be justified. So all it takes is for one Muslim to get the ball rolling, and the conflict will feed upon itself.
There will be no peace until Islam conquers, or is itself eliminated

Pundits and apologists and the kumbayaa, "Can we all just get along crowd", on both the right and left just don't want to get it. The fact is that most of the world's religions teach their followers to spread their particular "truth". Islam carries it one step further. Convert or Kill.
There is no place in mideastern Islamic society for peaceful coexistence with non-Islamics. We certainly seem to continually want to ascribe our belief and faith structure to other societies. It could well be a fatal mistake.
Containment of the radical element isnt peace but its something we need to move towards. If it werent for oil we could let them go back to living in the Middle-Ages...without $$$capital$$$ it wouldnt take long for them to regress.
Maybe someday in the far future when interstellar space-travel is realized all non-muslim can relocate and let them have this used-up planet for their very own. :)
