Cursing like that was an unfortunate slip, but it happens. I don't think it indicates a character deep character fault.

That didn't show class. He did apologize for it afterwards. He has obviously grown more mature since. People do make the wrong choices at times and mess up. When they do apologize, they are setting themselves apart. People like that aren't to be idolized, but they sure are better role models to look up to than most who will never fess up or own up to it. Great lessons in life can be taught from people like him. He is a case study for success in many areas.
