UN must be at heart of Iraq reconstruction -France

LONDON, March 27 (Reuters) - French Foreign Minister Dominique de Villepin said on Thursday the United Nations must be at the heart of the reconstruction of Iraq following a crisis which has "shattered" the established world order.

Speaking at the International Institute for Strategic Studies in London, de Villepin also said he was confident that France and the United States would re-establish the close ties they enjoyed before the Iraqi crisis unfolded.

De Villepin said France's main priority in the reconstruction of Iraq would be for the U.N. to pass a humanitarian resolution on the oil-for-food programme.

The French are like jackals feasting on an animal downed by a lion. They didn't participate in the kill, but they want to divvy up the remnants.

France is trying to hang onto Iraq like a drug dealer guards his stash, a pervert gleans his/her stack of porn, a murderer misdirects discovery of hidden corpses, and a pimp protects his/her whore.

Nothing backs an animal into a corner tighter than discovery of it's nest.

Horse dung. The UN needs to fade into history and the frogs need to crawl back into their safe little hiddy hole that they were terrified to climb out of in the first place. If they want ANY say, like they can clean the toilets and empty the dumpsters, I suggest the pay up. With a premium added for stupidity.

We not-so-politely told them where to go as far as the war is concerned, what makes these cream puffs think they can force our hand now?

And the reason we should listen to anything the French have to say, other than "we beg your forgiveness for our despicable behavior", is......?

The French want and need improved relations with us more than we need improved relations with them. Let them "twist slowly in the wind" as Devious Richard is reputed to have said of someone.

Maybe because they expect the State Department will be in charge after the Defence Department has done its job.

The State Department: a little bit of France in our own government.

The United States Department of State has raised international butt-smooching to an art form. But it was invented by the French about the time the Normans were kicked out of England.

This guy knows neither Dubya nor the American people very well. It's gone way beyond a mere disagreement. Active French opposition likely gives encouragement to the Baghdad regime, and may cause the loss of additional American lives.

We don't forget things like this. Nor should we.
