Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
Special thanks to null and void for keeping these running over the weekend and Monday, to all of you for keeping these threads alive, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

Thank you, Howlin. I have followed things pretty closely and hadn't heard that, but he claimed it was on CNN (which I don't watch regularly).

Last night/morning(oh, I can't tell the difference at this point) Rick Leventhal was reporting that they were getting there supplies just fine.
RL also reported that they had moved from desert to farmland. Anyone know if there is farmland near Bghdad.
To: Howlin
You can bet Jesse is going to find a way to get over there.SSSSSHHHHHHH!!!!!
You'll give 'im ideas!!!
To: Dolphy
. . . some of our troops closest to Baghdad are eating only one meal a day because they can't get the supply trucks to them. It may be true. In the CENTCOM/Qatar presser this AM, the word was that no mission-compromising interruptions had occurred, and that the logistics folks are keeping up with requests. Also noted there is no shortage of ammunition.
Early next week, the complaint will be that the filet mignon is one day past its expiration date.

Sykes.
Occasionally he uses material I send him. This Clintoon sandbag job is important, IMHO--maybe Sykes will see it the same way.
Belling has more and more become simply a ranter. Too bad--he won't engage a decent argument, he runs over people who agree with him--a genuine Pain
To: Dolphy
This was asked at the CENTCOM briefing early this morning also. The general said no supply problem at all.

I believe this is a media-originated rumor as our supply lines are being reported as 'spread thin'. Even so, it would seem to me that the Air Force, having hit nearly every tactical target already, could drop supplies if needed.

We must have troops on that border.. That'd be the 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force, some 47,000 strong. If they make it through the Marines, they'll meet up with the 101st Airborne.
This is how I see it:
Third Infantry Divison, 1st Marines - Anvil
2nd Marine, 4th Infantry, 101st Airborne - Hammer

Is anyone else hearing a strange noise on the webcams? It sounds like a mortar or AAA.

Exactly. And they will give him the POWs, you can bet that.
To: Dolphy
This supply line problem is a strawman the media is throwing out. I saw an interview this morning with someone from, I believe, the 3rd ID who said that they were supplied daily with ammunition. They were firing off test rounds of ammo.

LOL. This is what happens when one is forced to have lunch with a liberal...I lost my sense of reality:)

Anyone know if there is farmland near Baghdad.Only for the last 4000 years. That's why they call it the Fertile Crescent...
