Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
Special thanks to null and void for keeping these running over the weekend and Monday, to all of you for keeping these threads alive, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

Precisely. And overlooks the big picture. Within 50 miles of Bagtown, and fewer than 50 friendly deaths. Anyone announced that would be the case before the war, would've been declared crazily optimistic.

Those are guys whose job is just transporting...
The troops don't go with the eqip. The ships take 3 weeks to get to the gulf, and it only takes 24 hours to fly our soldiers.

Great post, I didn't mind the length at all. Shoot you have to be a voracious reader to "hang" on a live thread. I exclusively watch FOX and will write requesting streaming video.

Forget CNN and PMSNBC. It'll raise your blood pressure.
In the last couple of minutes, FNC had Vice Adm Kalleres USN (Ret) on. I worked for him in the 80's at DESRON 8 Mayport, Fl. He's the REAL deal. Great guy and fantastic suface warrior. All of his message traffic/memos were signed "Husky Sends". One of the best management tools I learded from him was "MBWA"...Management By Walking Around.
Hope we see more of him on Fox News Channel.
Mustang sends /w Best FReegards.

Protestors make a human chain in NYC's diamond district. They are concerned that Israel was preparing to commit violent acts against Palestinians. Photo I WOULD LOVE to see a chainsaw used to separate those two. "Hey I got three hands now!! Cool!"

From the beginning, I've felt there was dis-information involved in the whole Turkey matter. Well, what got me to wondering was the FNC White House correspondent who was talking about financial aid to countries surrounding Iraq after the war (in the event of expenses incurred during the war).....you know, the usual, blah blah blah....Anyway, she listed Jordan, Kuwait, etc., then included Turkey. (Not that I would put it past our State Department to go ahead and give money to someone who's done NOTHING to help us). Also, I'm in Texas where the wind and sand blow BADLY almost every day in March. C-130's frequently fly over this area doing dangerously low touch and goes......so, they're good at landing and offloading quickly just about anywhere.

Bill Schneider on CNN (sorry, can't get FOX0 giving some perspective. 74% still support war.
Then goes into silly rant about NYT poll that people haven't been "fully informed." Typical catch-22 from libmedia. "Tell us the unknowable. If you get it wrong, we'll say you lied; if you don't, we'll say you're hiding things." AAAARRRRGGGGH!

"You're late. What took you so long? God help you become victorious. I want to say hello to Bush, to shake his hand. We came out of the grave." Great article, thank you! Mass-e-mailed it to members of the national and international press - and the UN.

CNN's Bill Schneider needs to be put to sleep. He's sighting phoney anti-Bush polls again.

Or was the cancellation actually disinformation?

The video was right. It was the heavy equipment. The troops for that equipment waited in Ft. Hood.
From this post it says the following:
Troops from the division, based at Fort Hood, Texas, and considered one of the most modern fighting forces in the military, will begin flying to the Gulf region in coming days to join its heavy armor and equipment, a spokesman at Fort Hood told Reuters.

Based on assorted Military reports from all sources available, it appears to this viewer that Baghdad is on the verge of Fall.
Saddam's reign is about to end.
When reviewing the type of fighting Saddam's forces have reverted too, harrassing minor skirmishes, rather than full scale military engagements, (the only way to possibly stop the coalition forces from taking Bagland) it becomes clear that he no longer has any means of preventing the Coalition from taking Baghdad, and once that happens this war is over.....
Please note: I accept there is one nasty MF battle about to happen, "The Battle Of Baghdad", and it may reign for a few days.
But on the other side of this sand storm, this evening our time, the battle will be engaged by the close ground support, Apaches, Warthogs, and F15's and there is no ground force on earth, even our own, that can withstand that.
That is then coupled with M1-A1 tanks, sitting a mile out of range, throwing in shot after shot without any challange from overhead air craft......
This war is about to end.....
I hope some of the Iraqi soldiers who would rather be farmers can get away.
And may I say, as a representative of the Good Lord here on Earth, The American Military, under the guidence of President Bush, has set the Gold Standard in fighting War:
No war was ever fought in such a generous, compassionate way.
EVER
