Watch..you'll soon see the Iraqi troops and secret police fleeing to the Brit troops to protect them from the Shiites..We should allow this massacre to happen, as far as I am concerned. It will be extremely difficult for Coalition forces to be able to separate the good guys from the bad guys here, I say we let the local populace do it for us.

Could this be the plan? WE can't kill civilians, but if the al-Husseini regime's troops do it it's good for us. WE can't hang the dead-enders but if the Iraqi people do it, isn't that good for us too?
Of course we wouldn't be able to see the pictures on TV. That would be too disturbing for gentlepeople such as us, now wouldn't it. Wouldn't it?

Any Baathist thugs that are captured by Allied forces and allowed to live will only be a cancer in post-war Iraq. They all need the Mussolini treament from the locals that they have terrorized all these years.

They will, no doubt about it...

I disagree. The Baathists are not going to be accused of the massacre of their own people, WE ARE. Since we are going to be blamed anyway, why not get in there and end it now, while there are still some civilians left to tell the tale? We DESERTED these people in 1991, if we stand outside the city with the power to stop a massacre and do not, we are not who we claim to be.
