Notice the slant...she wasn't actually serious about going to war, she was just looking for a job, and that EE-VIL Dubya MURDERED HER!

F***ing press makes me want to vomit.

The press and some of the families are doing this with the missing/dead soldiers. None of them wanted to be there--they were just suckered into it.

Notice the slant

I agree. The slant on this piece is disgusting. She's not a woman, signifying maturity, or a soldier, she's a "girl," implying an innocent child. Then they imply it's an accident that she was there, since she only joined because she was unemployed. I'm sorry, but she knew what she was getting into when she enlisted. I'm sorry for her loss, but she was a soldier and this does her a disservice. I'm sure she wouldn't appreciate it either.

Jerks...

If I said any more, I'd be given a lengthy time-out.

How do you manage to read THAT into it? You need to get your glasses checked.

I agree with you to a certian extent. However, I could never really understand why the military sometimes advertised itself as simply a career choice or cool job opportunity.

Gee, maybe all of the $$$ Senator Bobby Byrd (KKK-West Virginia) is having spent to make his new office look like his old Senate Pro Tem digs, (not to mention all of the self aggrandizing $pork$ that he has diverted to W Virginia over the years) could have been better spent helping the "poor country" people from his state to find work.

They have no shame. Game plan is to highlight that the poor are fighting this war, institute a draft to make this more "fair", use hatred of the draft to swell ranks of anti-war movement leading to civil unrest...

The left is hoping for another Vietnam...and for what? Some noble belief in pacifism? No, simply to regain power they believe is rightfully theirs. You can see it in the posts on other forums. Sanctimonious wailing against the war followed by not so subtle hopes the war goes badly so Bush loses in 2004.

My thoughts exactly on the obvious editorial slant of this piece. It grieves me deeply that we lost a soldier--any soldier--in this tragic but neccessary war. I thank all our soldiers for their service and I pray for the souls of all those who fall for our great country.

That being said--get the women off the front lines--this is unexcusable!
