Isn't that call to prayer just the most satanic thing you have ever heard? I had to call my daughter in so she could hear itt the other day. I kept trying to make the sound for her bu couldn't quite achieve the affect my surround sound does. She was really creeped out when she finaly heard it.

I think it sounds worse to us than it actually is, due to the severe audio compression and gain on that mic and the digital transmission, plus that music is based on eastern scales and modes which western ears are unaccustomed too

But it freaked me out the first time too

I had my first listen to the "prayer calls" the other day, with PMSMBC Cam in one WM player and listening to Rush in another. The prayer call started the same time that I happen to be listening to Rush's 2nd hour. So I kept *waiting* for Rush's punch line, thinking it was on his show and this was an intro to another parody of his. Then I muted Rush and that sound was still in my speakers.
