Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
To all who helped this get started, thank you!
Special thanks to An.American.Expatriate for staring the daily threads, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

I noticed on MSNBC they have reverted to his original name....and will NOT use his muslim name....and they probably still refer to the greatest HW boxer of all time as Cassius Clay.

We're fighting every battle we've ever shoved under the rug it seems. Special interest pandering did more than divide our country, it shattered it. Me, me, me...

Thanks.
I have purposely avoided this thread; there is real work that I need to be doing, but here I go.

Fox - Brit Hume reports that the Saddam video from last night was edited in 57 places
Either Saddam is dead or he made 57 mistakes that needed to be edited. I think he is dead.
(wishful thinking based on logic)

That might have been for espionage though. Can't quite remember the charge. That was for espionage. Still trying to find ANYONE who has been executed for treason this century. The best text I have found so far is:

Bless your heart: if you spend as much time avoiding your "real work" as I do, refreshing this thread.

"Fox - Brit Hume reports that the Saddam video from last night was edited in 57 places"
Also did you note the fact that he praised the commander of the 51st mech - the division that surrendered earlier? I doubt he'd be doing that given what's happened, unless he's become a more 'enlightened' Saddam ;)

Your first post? Your freeper #9097. You been a lurker for years?
What's going on? I've been homeschooling. When are we going Baghdad and have we got chem weapons or not?

Well, we heard about the 4th Division.
Debka may not be reliable regarding Saddam OR his high command, but it seems to comport with what we've seen.
Only problem: as long as the RG's rear echelon is separated from Baghdad, we have a good situation. They can only retreat into a field of fire from our buffs and/or artillery---and maybe some other surprises.
If, however, their rear is contiguous with civilian-occupied Baghdad, it may be a long and nasty fight.

Hey, don! Good to see you!
