There's nothing better at killing armor than the Apaches (well except the A-10s) and they can loiter and provide close air support to the troops on the ground.

Besides the fact that they made it back speaks for the toughness of the Apaches.

Apaches are only good at killing armor in a combined arms attack/defense. In the attack, they fly in and strike and get out while the armor charges in. In the defense, they fire from a terrain feature away, hovering behind a rise and scooting up to shoot and then retreating behind the dug in armor. Apaches do not go in alone against an entrenched enemy with AA...this is just stupid.
