Whatever. I assume you're a troll, or something less than that.

It's a sad day... Just what the media wants, don't you think? This really makes my blood boil.

Nobody in my family would behave the way the father has, but people grieve in different ways and I can't blame him. Nothing could make losing a son feel "worth it." I could more easily deal with my dad being killed than my kid... Because it is the natural duty of fathers to go out and fight and die to protect their young. I wouldn't want to be held responsible for what I might say if I did lose a son for any reason, so I will absolve this guy of anything he says that would otherwise offend me.

HOWEVER -- The media should not report ANYTHING he says. It's an insult to our troops in the field as well as to the fallen warrior himself. Further it will be an embarassment to this father when in the future he realizes what an honorable, precious son he had and how much his son would have been hurt by the things he said before all the world.

Can this be for real?

Nah, you're dreaming...

Honestly, I'm not surprised. Not excusing his behavior, but most people aren't rational when grieving.

I saw this also - I cannot begin to understand what is going through his mind at this time, but I am willing to give him a pass until he comes to terms with his son's choices.

I saw that too. I chalked up some of the father's anger to grief and to a less-than complete understanding of the dangers of war. If you enlist, you'd better be prepared to fight and possibly die for your country. The loss of each soldier is sad, but the price for Freedom.

I don't think the media should be pimping this man for his remarks. People say stupid things during grief. This is a volunteer military and no one made him go. The boy was courageous and full of honor.

Why would people flame you? The father will realize his booby-ness later.

He knew the risks!! I don't care how you cut it!! I bet you anything the father is a demoRAT!! I don't remember the liberal media WHORES giving the father of the military man who died on the BLACK HAWK mission any air time to voice his hatred towards the RAPIST!! He was bitter accusing BUBBA of not sending in the necessary back-up to pull their son and the rest of the group out of there! NOPE NOT A PEEP FROM THE LIBERAL MEDIA WHORES...GOD HOW I HATE THEM!!

Maybe he "feels" that his son only joined the military for the "free education".

How sad to use the death of one's own son to make a political statement.

Just as a rule, never take shots at a grieving parent or spouse......

They say stupid things only to regret later.....

Share in their loss, their son was a great patriot......

God Bless our troops!

What is not widely reported is that this Marines Son said that he was proud his dad died serving his country. You won't hear much of that sound bite though.

There was another father of a dead Marine on with Aaron Brown last night. He asked the protesters to stop and to get behind Bush.

Yes the father was very upset on that interview, he had just found out that his only son was killed. I will blame the media as not giving this father the respect that he deserved in order to come to term with the information he more than like was just handed minutes before. Are they showing the follow up interview frome yesterday with him and the whole family? I will not flame the father but ask those here to think of how they would react to something such as this while having these media types trying to scoop each other.

This son is obviously twice the man the father is. The son wouldn't have deserved to be called a Marine if he was unwilling to die to fulfill a mission. That's the sacrifice every Marine has to be willing to make. And I suspect this young man went to his reward with the knowledge that he had done the Corps proud.

His whining father soils his son's memory.

Why isn't he blaming Saddam for being such a son of an SOB? Last time I checked, he is the reason that we're at war, not because of President Bush's ambitions to take over Iraq and kill innocent civilians just for oil.

I happened to surf by a local (Baltimore) TV station this morning and the father was making another appearance. Seemed like he was backing off a bit, stating that he was very emotional when he made his original statement.

I'm willing to give the guy a pass.
