Father of Marine killed blames Bush

The father of a Marine Staff Seargent killed in the war was shown on the news carrying a snapshot of his late son, blaming President Bush for killing his only son.

Call me insensitive, but NO ONE forced his son to enlist, or in this case re-enlist more than once to serve his country. The son is a hero, as far as I'm concerned. The father, though I grieve with him, is a boob!

I dare you to flame me.

As your name suggest I would hope you could have compassion for a grieving soul and understand grief is worked out in many different ways. The father may not always feel this way but right now he is hurting and perhaps needs someone to blame.

It probably is for real, unfortunately.

The only families that have the right to blame Bush are the families of the one dead and 16 injured members of the 101st Airborne injured in yesterday's grenade attack.

A lack of clarity about Islam and it's goals on part of our President and congress allowed that attack to occur - and will allow others like it to take place in the future.

Of course we have the other examples of grieving families, the ones who did not embarrass their lost ones, themselves, or the country. So it is possible to grieve and be sane and civil.

The man lost his boy and as misguided as he is, in America he can voice his opinion. A little compassion would not be out of order.

I've known a lot of Bosnians and never met one with the name of "Bey". They have regular Serbo-Croatian surnames, usually ending in "ic", but their first names are Muslim names.

OTOH, I agree that I might let a grieving father slide on this. Thanx for your input. Compassion is not my strong suit, but I'll work on it.

I can't believe that the father is saying this, because his son was a volunteer,not a draftee.

The son of the deceased serviceman could teach the entire family something about dignity.

"He was a lot of fun to be with - just like a big kid," said his son, Kenneth, now 10.

Although Waters-Bey's job was preparing for war, he loved watching Tom and Jerry cartoons and playing video games with his son, and chasing him around the yard.

Kenneth said he last talked to his father by phone in December, when he was shipping out from his base in California for the Persian Gulf.

"I said, 'Goodbye, Dad, I love you,'" the boy said. "He was fighting for his country and doing what he had to do. And he'll always be my hero."

Heard the original statement and the one that followed later, which was an attempt (though feeble) to reduce the emotion in the first. Still, the damage is done- Bush sends blacks to die in an unpopular war.

Only two options:
1. Make the war popular, or
2. Make the president black.

Father of Son, with all due respect is being childish. If he or his son did not believe in the cause of American Freedoom, then he shouldn't have enlisted.

I'll give Dad plenty of time to grieve, but I would like to see some sort of retraction eventually. He might be able to get the same news services to air his explanation/retraction.

Let the man grieve.

If anything, it is a reflection of the constant hate against Republican/Conservative/White that is served up to Black Americans by Black and White socialist in America. Many Black Americans do not have access to, or do not know where to go for the truth. And, even if they were to see the truth, they would most probably reject it, because of the 24-7 barrage of hate that is presented to them as "truth". If you are going to blame anyone for this, blame the socialist leaders who are spreading the hate.

Again, let the man grieve.
