BINGO as long as it doesn't compromise our war effort. Drudge's Al-Jazeera picture, which is now PUBLIC DOMAIN, doesn't do that. I'm surprised at the number of people who don't get that.
There seems to be this sense in people that if we let the ugliness of war be seen we will lose support or something. My fear is the other way around - this is a serious war and as such needs be illustrated how serious it is.
My feeling of the coverage over the first couple days was that this was like some National Geographic special where reporters were riding accross the desert on some field trip or something. This is very serious business and looking the other way as some misguided notion of national pride is the exact thing we shouldn't be doing.
