I have to swim against the current here.
I would rather not see those pictures, but...

There is something unsettling about the idea that every other country in the world, and every sandmaggot who wishes to can celebrate over the images, and the "world's most 'free' country" keeps its citizens in total ignorance and does not think enough of them to allow a choice.

I'm not talking about legislation here. I am talking about choosing the decent thing over the sensational thing. I am talking about being BETTER than the other countries. That man is someone's son and maybe someone's husband or father. He is someone's best friend. I do not need to see it to be outraged. Too much of that sort of thing desensitizes people. The reason we are shocked and appalled is precisely because it is not normal.

Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should.
