My complaint is that families had not been notified and Drudge put up the picture. What would have hurt for the names to be released before putting up the pictures? It is the get everything up first that bugs me without regard to who might be looking.

I am in total agreement about showing how real war truly is. Remember how the media chose to stop showing the destruction of the World Trade Center and the falling bodies. These images must be shown.

About 45 minutes ago, CNN Radio as well as NBC advised they have been asked NOT to release the tape yet as all of the families have not been notified. This may have changed as of the time of this post.

Why do you think the Pentagon does not want the images displayed and have requested they be withdrawn from Al Jezeera?

I cannot speak for the Pentagon.

However I suspect that it has to do with the Administration on-going concern about a possible grass-roots uprising against all things Islamic. Just a thought.

And for the record, the argument is the same. The Goverment asked the media not to show any clips/images from the Al Jazzera tape just yet. Glad to see Drudge is doing his patriotic duty.

I disagree, it's just like after 9-11 when the media refused to show images of people jumping and video from the scene.

They censor the outrageous pictures, then wonder why there is a lack of outrage.
While I am in agreement that the Iraqi video is horrid propaganda, I also deplore the tendency of so many Americans to believe that we will mourn our way to victory. This includes the hanging of yellow ribbons while the war goes on.  Fly the American Flag and realize that war involves death and destruction.

Sorry Fair Opinion, I have to disagre with a FReeper. It is about time that America really SEE the horrible reality of evil. The liberal media didn't show video of American citizens jumping 80 stories to their death from burning buildings because we might UNDERSTAND the truth. Savage has now been showing the brutal images on his new TV show so we WILL REMEMBER and KNOW. Drudge is doing the same, IMHO. Ignoring reality doesn't mean it is not happening. This will mkae our resolve stronger and IMHO, sadly, needed.
