We need to spend $100 billion a year extra to provide for a global military capability. A cheap price to pay in view of what 9-11 cost us.

Doesn't Oregon produce anything other than soldiers for the war effort? We certainly send enough of our best and brightest! Well, kind of. We do have a Boeing plant here in Gresham that prudoces parts.
