You do have to remember, some of these people are just kids too. They've lived an unreal life in college sports and now have millions of dollars in their mid twenties...not making excuses for them.

It's just that they've never bothered to really engage their brain beyond sports and personal gratification. Thus they suck up what they hear around them in college and from their friends.
