Mornin'. I actually got 6 hours sleep.
Sounds like there was heavy action. Basra, I've tried to catch up on that one...3rd cav engaged RG units near or in Basra, stopped progress, right? Is that battle over?
Any other engagements? Are there still reports of other armored units racing toward BAG?

Apropos real world:
German Foreign Minister "stonethrower" Fischer warned that a series of "disarmament wars" could come. And what would be wrong with that? As long America disarms countries like Iraq, N Korea, I had no problems with that!

I don't think there is anything wrong with the helicopters. Fox News reports it as a mid-air collision.
It's just a shame, but with the amount of operations going on, accidents are going to happen.
I also think we will lose more people before this ends. This is not going to be a cake walk, despite some of the pundits predictions. We will prevail, but there will be a cost, as I am certain the President knows.

No doubt.
It´s a shame, that´s what I said with "what´s wrong with their helis". Damned! That must not happen! I just imagine I´d knew them ... or their partners and children.

Sorry, had to go to other room to watch CNN coverage, it sure was something watching that. Makes me wonder if they are encountering attacks in these small towns, how bad Baghdad will be. They really thought all these smaller groups would immediately surrender.

Another engagement at the home front:
some media criticize that Ari Fleischer told them, the President wouldn´t watch much TV in these days. They expected the Commander-in-chief to watch their silly speculations all the day. Heck, do these guys want to tell the President how to do his job?

I believe that there is still sporadic fighting going on near Basra, but it's mostly pacified. Don't know if it's Rep. Guard troops, but there have been attacks by soldiers in civilian clothing. The RPG attack occured when other Iraqis were trying to surrender. Don't know if they were perpetrating a ruse, though.
The 3rd Infantry Division is still heading north. Don't know who else is moving in that direction.

Sure we all hoped that the Iraqis would surrender. The media makes one big fault: they think of hopes and speculations as if these were true.
BTW, is the surrender of one Iraqi division confirmed yet?

.."some media criticize that Ari Fleischer told them, the President wouldn´t watch much TV in these days. They expected the Commander-in-chief to watch their silly speculations all the day. Heck, do these guys want to tell the President how to do his job? I saw this question at yesterday's Fleischer press conference. Some of the media would like to make GW look disconnected and huddling with his advisors or something like that. If Ari said the President was watching the coverage - they would print he is fixated on the TV coverage.
