Is there something wrong with this woman's suit....??

It's what's inside that counts.

Both 3rd ID and 7th Cav were on the Euprhates, they could split up at An Nasiriyah, one on each side of the river.

I am guessing that whoever is on the east side of the river can bypass the Karbala Gap.

U.S.-Led Forces Reach Outskirts of Basra but Do Not Try to Enter

Lance corporal Johnny Smith and Juan de Leon, both of New York, NY, aim their assault rifles at looters from overrun Iraqi positions in the strategic southern port of Umm Qasr. Marines are still battling Iraqi resistance on the outskirts of Umm Qasr.

Pentagon:

Reporter: So you've crossed the Tigris.

McChrystal: Euphrates. Still have a significant Iraqi force in front of us.

She's definitely making a fashion statement. Rumsfeld's "New Image" Pentegon.

This gal at Pentagon briefing is on the ball. Stands down requests for tactical information, even ballpark.

Hope he's not in Baghdad. His gravitational field will throw off our JDAMs.

Could explain the missiles in Iran.

Some notes -

The 3/7th Cavalry is a very small unit - just the recon element of the 3rd Infantry. They have only about 20 M1 tanks - plus about 30 Bradleys and some helicopters. Wherever they are going, they are only a small part of a much larger force.

I think it is definitely likely that there are columns advancing on both sides of the Euphrates. It is not clear whether all of the 3rd has crossed at Nasariya. I find it strange that so many units have been driving such long distances pre-Nasariya. They would not have had to drive so long/go so far to get there. The only alternative is a long march through the Western desert, headed for Karbala or Habbaniyah.

The 101st in its long truck move (or parts of the 101st) seems to be following behind the 3rd.

There was a report that the 1st Marines would change front and follow via Nasariya. There seems to be a new divisional headquarters for the Marines coming in, the 2nd Marine Div. There always seemed to be too many Marine battalions deployed for one division HQ.

Other units still not heard from are the brigade of the 82nd and the 172nd Airborne Brigade.

Also there seems to be at least two brigades of National Guard troops unmentioned in all of this.

Very interesting.

I honestly can't concentrate on what she's saying because I can't stop looking at the jacket, which btw, doesn't even match the ugly turtleneck sweater underneath.
